We each come to the physical for a short time. Yes, some of us spend longer in our bodies than others; eventually though we all die. If you speak to different people from different cultures they will all give you a different perspective on death that works for them and governs the way they live. When you look at the Western world, where there is no real care or respect for the transitional process of death, you will see that it reflects a throw away culture that is currently present. Technology is driven by a perceived need to be more, have more and do more, ultimately the more that every one desires is life.
In a bid to prolong life, the process of actually living is shoved to one side in favor of an artificial reality. Are we even living any more? Well, it is often lamented, that on the approach toward the transition of death many wish they had lived, they see the missed opportunities and the petty activities that blinded them from the beauty of the Earth and often regret not taking the time to enjoy the simple beauty of life through nature and heartfelt love.
We are here to experience life, from as many perspectives as possible. We die, so that we might repeat the process of living, from another perspective in a new body. The transition of death then, is a gateway to a new existence, a new expression and a new opportunity to experience more life. Clinging on to this life within this body that will naturally decline, takes the pleasure out of living. We limit ourselves fearing all we have come to know is all we can ever know.
We forget that we have done this before and will do it again, time …and time again. So we fear the un-remembered and experience frustration when things don’t go as we think they should. This turns the experience of living, into one that provides low level perspectives and dulls the joy that is available to all.
Living isn’t always fun for everyone all the time. For more than we realise, the act of dying provides a sweet release. There have been many times during history where it is recorded that people have opted to die instead of experience injustice, pain inflicted by others and domination. These people are not to be judged harshly, for it is their will during that particular lifetime of which they have experienced all they care to.
So on the subject of lifetimes:
There are many many more…
So why do we die?
So that we might live.
